The Hip Guide to Happiness

I just have to write about how life changing this book, "Add More ~ING to Your Life" is. I've always been a positive person, but this book is being treated like the bible for me right now. I've done the writ~ing and meditations and I'm on the last chapter and I'm going to be sad I'll be done reading, although the work is forever.

Amazing. Life-Changing. Awesome. Inspiring.

HIGHLY recommended by me :)

Songs That Play in Yoga: Volume 1

::::Le Sigh::::
I've been blessed by finding one of the best yoga teachers ever, Tamal Dodge! He plays THE BEST music in his classes, and they're just inspiring, heart felt, and open up my senses.

Here is one of the songs he plays that I love:

Grey Blue Eyes by Dave Matthews
I fade from the light
Your glory was lost that night
And no mind can't get me right
And now I'm praying that you'll find me out
Stone, stone has pulled me down
But my faith has got me bound to your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

Don't forget my broken heart
You remember it from the start
You made it and it's all a part
Of your grey blue eyes
Oh, oh
Oh, oh

You're gone and I know I'm dead
I've lost my way
Can't find me in your grey blue eyes
Grey blue eyes

Acupuncture for Stress

Within the last few months, my stress level has completely climaxed and I had to do something about it. I had a healthy diet, I work out, and did yoga twice a week (by the way, I still do all of these things). I was at work, doing my thing when I glanced over at my health insurance booklet. Well, acupuncture is covered on my healthcare plan. I searched and searched for a woman acupuncturist close to my apartment and/or my work and found, Julie Festa.

After my first treatment, I felt an emotional detox, but after that one session, I've felt better and better. Less stress, better sleep, better management of emotions and I generally feel better. I highly recommend acupuncture AND my new friend Julie Festa. She's great!

Happy New Year!

"Finish each day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day [ and new year]"

I've Lost My Lithium by Aubrey Nicole

As crazy as it sounds, I haven't been engaged this much in a book since "A Million Little Pieces". I recommend that every girl in their teenage years to their thirties read this book. It's a quick, fun, and witty read that I just adored. I got through the majority of it within hours. Aubrey Nicole tells stories in the most inventive, clear way. You are with her on her crazy journey....and it's a wild ride! The journey through men, careers, and travel...what all of us long for.

Buy the book here: Avant Books

I promise, this will be a great purchase and an amazing addition to your book collection.

For the Sleep Deprived (like myself)

I think I may have found a remedy for insomnia. I've been having the worst sleep issues due to stress, anxiety, and depression, but alas, I did something last night that got me through without my eyes opening at 4 AM, wide awake.

Here is my strategy:
1. Yoga in the early evening.
2. 15 minute bath soak in epsom salts (so cheap, and natural). I found lavender infused ones at CVS for $3.49.
3. Right before bed, read.
4. Gratitude.... Talk to yourself and count your blessings.

It really helped me.... and I hope I can help you too. xxxoo -Jennifer

Recession Still in Full Effect?!

Talking to most of my friends and in my personal experiences, the recession is still in full effect. I'm left wondering when it's ever going to get better! . After talking to many people, jobs aren't paying that well and there's little to no jobs out there. It's extremely sad and I wish I had answers as to what to do. I'm in a rock and a hard place! Can anyone out there predict the economic forecast within the next few months?! HELP! Things have got to get better at some point!

Listen to Patti Stanger, Ladies!

I am totally obsessed with the Millionaire Matchmaker, Patti Stanger. I idolize her and I wish that I knew what I know now (after watching the show)! Single girls, if you have a few hours, take them and watch Patti in action. Her rules are so accurate. Play close attention to the details of it as well (Ahem, waiting until your are in a COMMITTED - MONOGAMOUS relationship). The rules are in place for a reason, ladies.
